When's the last time ya sold your soul?
It can't have been that long ago
If ya thinkin' bout drinkin' down dead, you should know
you're not the only soul that's in limbo...

Another Sunday Morning Comin' Down...
Whiskey and coffee, wakin' up Sunday
When you can't quite remember how you got home.
Uppers and downers, flyballs and grounders
And church ladies to judge you when they think you're stoned
When you can't quite remember how you got home.
Uppers and downers, flyballs and grounders
And church ladies to judge you when they think you're stoned

A Bigger Cup
Maybe you're sad or just in
love,
Thinkin' of that girl you can't quit thinkin' of
Well, if she sits down to pick you
up...
I hope you've got a bigger cup.
Songs in the Pipe
OK, here are the perfunctories, precursors and prefaces:
This blog is the property of the Pitch Black Ribbons and brothers Clint Phipps and Cody Phipps. We both write songs. We perform and sing them throughout New England. When people ask, we call ourselves Alternative Americana. Click the link to the website to find out what that really sounds like.
We've got news-y type blogs and the site and Facebook and the whole nine. With this we're trying something new. We have this massive backlog of songs we've written, which is great ... until we get around to trying to decide what to record next. So we're going to see if blogging some of our lyrics in snippets and verses might help us make up our minds. You can help. If you like something you see here, shoot us a comment, or mash your like buttons, or do your Google mathematical functions, or whatever it is you want to do to let us know. We'll take sky writing or a naked parade too if you're into that sort of thing. We're open minded.
Like most of what we do, this is an experiment. We really have no idea where we're going or how we're getting there. But the ride's gonna be fun.
Hey. It's the entertainment business. You can't expect us to be too serious.
